Getting Back To Hectic Normal
In our family, celebrations and holidays begin in September. From September through mid-January we have several birthdays and anniversaries and all the holidays packed into that four month period.
Because all my family live so closely, these events always turn into a huge family gathering so I feel we have had a non-stop food fest since September. We have had dinners ranging from full blown Christmas dinner to informal oyster roasts and everything in between.
Therefore, starting the first week of January, we will be getting back to our normal eating habits and normal schedule. But, what about those thousands of home- made cookies in the pantry and the chocolate cake in the refrigerator.
At least all the pies have been eaten so they will not tempt us anymore and the last of our Christmas leftovers are finally gone. I see our future with lots and lots of salads on our table and the coats removed from the treadmill. Wow…. I’m just thankful that the holidays are over. I’m exhausted and really full.
I’m ready to get back to our normal, very hectic life without all the added social activities, parties, and meals. Who would ever think that normal hectic could be a relief? Don’t get me wrong. I love Christmas and the holidays but normal is good too.
How do you plan on recovering from the craziness that is the holidays?
